NIGHTMARE RADIO SKETCHES
Sir, —I wish to protest against such radio sketches as we had from IYA on March 29. Any hint of the supernatural with its accompaniment of moans and groans of affected terror can have only a harmful effect on the majority of listeners-in, especially the ladies. Last winter we had one of these exciting, gruesome radio sketches nearly every Monday night, and as my husband hopes to make me strongminded I was compelled to listen-in. Sow, 1 consider Monday belongs peculiarly to the women of the household, it being a day devoted to washing, scrubbing and ironing, so one wishes for something quiet and restful by way of entertainment at night. Monday.
