AMERICAN CENTRES MOTOR PLANTS VACATED COAL MINERS' AGREEMENT By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received April 4, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 3 A message from Flint, Michigan, states that the sit-down strikers have evacuated the Chevrolet Corporation's plant. , The 1800 strikers in the Pontiac plant have agreed to vacate it. A conference at six of the General Motors Corporation's plants resulted in a tentative settlement. The meal of the Governor of Michigan, Mr. Frank Murphy, was interrupted at a Detroit hotel. He was refused further service, and departed. Eight hundred guests were without elevator and other services. Later an agreement was signed at three hotels with tie employees.
The mine workers have signed a two years' agreement involving an increase in wages totalling 85,000,000 dollars a year among 300.,000 soft coal miners in eight States. This ends the stoppage in the industry. As a result the retail price of coal has been increased 25 cents a ton.
At Kansas, City the strikers have evacuated the Ford plant and formed picket lines outside. Representatives of the firm and the union have arrived from Detroit and will begin conferences on Monday.
