COMPENSATING PRICE SCHEME
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday The Te Awamutu branch of the Farmers'/ "Uniorf held its annual meeting recently, Mr. A. T. Bryant presiding. There was a good attendance and the president extended a hearty welcome to Mr. H. 0. Mellsop, the Auckland provincial president, who addressed the meeting.
The financial statement showed a credit balance of £-'3 15s 2d, and the relieving farm-manager scheme, which had been in existence for 28 weeks, was reported to have been very successful. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr. A. T. Bryant; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. J. H. Onion and D. H. Cavfers; secretary, Mr. C. J. Flay; treasurer, Mr. A. S. Wvllie; executive, Messrs. W. G. Neill (le Kawa), D. Onion (Hairini), E. 'Wilson (Ic Bore), E. 'Krippner (Te Bore), A. W. Signal (Frontier Boad), G. T. Crawley (Puahue), W. P. Kripper (Te Bore), I). A. Parlane (Te Mawhai), J. Millen (Parawera), B. Harvey (Korakonui), B. Cull en (Orakau), Earwaker (Te Mawhai), A. J. Perrott (Pukeatua), ,J. A. Johnson (Ngaroto), AY. J. Hodgson (Hhirini), C. North (Ohaupo), and H. Clayk (Pokuru); delegates to Waikato sub-provincial executive, Messrs. J. H. Onion, D. H. Cavers, A. L. Bryant. G r , L. Crawley, D. Onion, D. A. Parlane, G. B. Lowrv, W. G. Neill, B. Cullen, C. North and C. J. Flay. It was decided that an honorarium of £'ls 15s be granted the secretary, Mr. C. J. Flay.
"With regard to the compensating price scheme, for tlie dairy industry, Mr. F. C. Roberts stated that almost 100 per cent of the dairy companies in the province were in favour of. the scheme, and it was proposed to levy 4d a cow and -Jd a sheep to raise funds for the campaign.
