PROMISES NOT KEPT ALLEGATION AT MASTF.RTON [llY TKLKGIIAPH —PKKSS ASSOCIATION] MASTERTOX, Tuesday Inaction of the Government in giving effect to promises made by Ministers to a Wairarapa deputation which wailed on them last May, relative to improved railway facilities over the lJimutakas, was discussed by the Masterton Chamber of Commerce to-day. It was decided tij call a district conference, to which Wellington bodies could be invited, to enter a protest. it was stated that, although the deputation was assured that a report on the project would be obtained by the Government, all efforts since then to obtain a satisfactory reply from the Pr'nic Minister or other Ministers had been fruitless. If was emphatically stated that the Government's promises to the deputation had not been kept.
