COMING-OF-AGE DANCE

A corning-of-age dance for their only son, Murray, was given by Mf. and Mrs. George F. Court, of Orakei Road, Remuera, in , the Catholic Women's League Rooms on Thursday night.; Dahlias and gladioli in autumn shadings made charming decorations in the large reception room, and pink flowers added a soft touch of colour to the dance ha'l. Later in the evening hundreds Of balloons were released from the ceiling, giving a carnival effect to the scene. Pink roses decorated the supper table, where a birthday cake lighted with 21 candles Held pride of place. .« ... „ , , . Mrs. Court received her guests wearing a frock of black satin marocain, the tunic bodice being appliqued with large white satin flowers outlined in silver. A cape of silver fox was also worn. Miss Barbara Court assisted her mother and wore a pastel pink and blue floral suede frock with silver thread outlining the flower design. Mrs. R. E. Cunningham was in pale turquoise hand-blocked crepe patterned in darker blue and orange shades; Miss I. Partridge, coronation blue georgette and lace.' ' ! t • ' Among the .guests were:—Mesdames H.
