MISHAP NEAR YVHAKATANE [TSY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHAKATANE, Sunday Two young men suffered minor injuries and another was taken to the Whakatane Hospital as a result of an accident on tho Whakatane-Taneatua road about mid-day to-day, when a motorcar, driven by I\lr. George Marsh, aged 30, a stock agent, of Whakatane, collided with a truck driven by Alexander Melsaae, aged 20, a hardware employee, of Taneatua. Mclsaac was driving toward Whakatane with two other young men, Arthur Stock and Charles Moore, both residents of Taneatua, when the truck met in head-on collision with the car driven by Mr. Marsh. A passenger in the car, Mr. Jack . Tanner, of To Puke, had his head ; driven through the windscreen, suffer- • ing severe cuts about the face and , neck. He was admitted to the Wliaka- , tune Hospital, but his condition is not regarded as serious. [ Both the passengers in the truck , were injured, Mr. Moore receiving a bad gash 011 the arm and Mr. Stock facial injuries and. shock. Neither of ; the drivers was hurt, but both the car and truck were badly damaged.
