CRASH OVER BANK

LORRY AND FOUR MEN ONE SERIOUSLY INJURED [by TELEGRAPH —OWN' correspondent] AYHAKATXE, !-ft»ui<lay Two passengers were injured when S lorry driven by Mr. Richard Warding, aged 30, of Waimana, skidded and capsized over n 20-foot bnnk on the railway road near Taneatua late last night, Mr. Henry Kelly suffered a fracture of the skull and Mr. E. Peake, of Taneatua, had a number of ribs fractured. The lorry was heavily laden with concrete pipes, which had been loaded at the Whakatane County Council's works at Pekatahi. It turned a somersault and landed 011 its wheels badly, damaged. Another passenger, Mr. L. Penny, was riding in the cab with Mr. Kelly, and the driver. Mr. McPeake was seated on the load on the back of tki) vehicle, and was injured when a heavy concrete pipe fell on him. The injured men were brought to the Whakatane Hospital, Mr. Kelly® condition being serious.
