TALKS IN LONDON MR. MacDONALD CALLS CONSTITUTIONAL POLICY By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received January 15, 0.20 p.m.) LOXDOX, Jan. 14 The Dominions Secretary, Mr. Malcolm Mac Donald, to-day called on the President of the Executive of the Irish Free State, Mr. de Valera, who is passing through London on his return from Zurich, where he consulted an eye specialist.

After the conversation the following official announcement was made: "An informal discussion occurred on a number of matters affecting the relations between Britain and Ireland." Tlio political correspondent of tho News Chronicle states tliat among tho subjects discussed wore Mr. de Yalera's intentions regarding tho Constitution of the Free State, and whether the J-ree Stato will participate in the coronation celebrations. It is understood also that Mr. do Valera may act to prevent volunteers going to Spain. Special significance is attached to the meeting in view of a statement by tho Free Stato Minister of Education, Mr. J'. Derrig, last Sunday, that he hoped the new year would bring tho final disappearance of the remaining differences between Britain and the Free State.
