LARGE CLEARANCE MADE FEW CROSSBREDS OFFERED HOME TRADE'S PURCHASES LONDON, Jan. 14 At the wool sales to-day 9425 bales were offered, including 1810 New Zealand, and 8681 were sold. A good selection ' was offered, consisting chiefly of Australian Merinos. 'Competition was strong, especially for the small supply of crossbreds. GERMAN REQUIREMENTS SHEEP FLOCKS INCREASED BERLIN. Jan. 14 * Statistics compiled by the Bremen Chamber of Trade reveal that Government subventions have resulted in an increase of 500,000 in the number of sheep in Germany. The total now is 4,400,000, yielding from 12 to 15 per cent of the country's wool requirements.
