EFFECT OF PROFIT-TAKING ELECTROLYTIC ZINCS RISE (Received January 15, 0.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, Jnn. 15 In spite of a slight fall in the price of spelter, Electrolytic Zinc went higher on the Sydney Stock Exchange to-day. Mount Lyells opened firmer, hut finished easier. Soma industrials suffered from profit-taking. Sales included:

HIS MAJESTY'S ARCADE SLIGHT FALL IN PROFIT, HIGHER DIVIDEND RATE A net profit of £.'3050, against £3115, ■was earned by His Majesty's Arcade and Theatre Company, Limited, for the year ended December 31. The final dividends recommended are 2 3-5 per cent on preference shares, making 5 1-5 per cent for the year, and 3.V per cent on ordinary shares, making with 3J per cent interim dividend, 7 per cent for the year, against 6J per cent in 1935. The year's dividends require £3140 and £175, representing income from investments, has been transferred to reserve, increasing this fund to £325. These appropriations leave £714 to be. carried forward, against £979 brought in. The report states that in spit« of tenancy changes tho revenue from rents has been maintained, but as a result of recent legislation tho expenses of the company are unavoidably higher. Tho reimposition of the graduated land tax and increaso in. income tax rate have imposed an additional burden with a corresponding effect in tho figures for the year. Gross revenue amounted to £BIO6, against £Blll, and expenditure to £5056, against £4996. The retiring director, Mr. F. Kneebone. is available for re-election. Silver is quoted at 20j|d an oz spot, and 20Jd forward, compared with 21d and 20jUl yesterday. Tho quotation for silver at per fine oz. is 221 d, compared with 22 11-16 d yesterday.

MEAT EXPORT SCHEDULE INCREASES IN RATES Although meat export buyers aro not operating extensively at present owing to the freezing works dispute the recent lioen demand for pigs and lambs has resulted in an increase in schedule buying rates for future operations in certain classes. Two grades of pigs, 1211b. to 1601b. and 1611b. to 3801b., are advanced id per lb., while up to 301b. lambs are similarly increased to 81d and seconds are lilted id to Bid.
