NEW CARGO VESSELS
UNION COMPANY'S ORDER ONE FOR DOMINION TRADE [b\- tf.lkgraph—PßKSS association] WELLINGTON, Wednesday The Union Steam Ship Company announces that it has placed an order with Alexander Stephen and Sons, oi Glasgow, for two specially-designed cargo vessels, one being for the New Zealand coastal coal and timber trade and the other for the Launceston-New South Wales general cargo trade. The vessel for New Zealand will be a single-screw coal burner of 2500 tons, with a speed of 11 knots, and the other a single-screw Diesel motor vessel of 2370 tons gross, and a speed of 12 knots.
