FARMER'S LOG CABIN
A Taranaki farmer has made a cheap yet efficient shed from the trunks of pinus insignis trees grown on his property. The shed is built on the lines of the log cabin of the American pioneers, The logs, some weighing over a ton, were hauled up by horses and hewn to fit. The gaps were made draught-proof with papa clay, which set like concrete. The picturesque appearance and comfort of the building is added to by a chimney and fireplace built of large stones.
