WOMEN'S DIVISION

The Paerata branch also arranged a fancy dress dance for children, which was held in the hall on Saturday night. The function was promoted with the object of raising funds to liquidate Paerata school's liabilities to the dental clinic. There was a large attendance, children outnumbering their parents and friends. The task of judging the fancy costumes was carried out by Mesdames Gee and Booth, of Pukokohe. After the grand march a short programme was presented by the schoolchildren. Accompaniments were played bv Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Gee and Miss P. Mitchell. Supper was provided and dispensed by the division ladies. During tho evening lights were extinguished and Santa Claus entered the hafl by candlelight. Later he distributed gifts from a Christmar treo to those children who did not win prizes for their costumes.
