WEST COAST TOURNEY SOME GOOD MARKSMANSHIP [BY TF.LKGKAPH —PRKSS ASSOCIATION'] WAN GA N UI, Sunday Favoured by excellent weather and conditions ideal for shooting the a-nganui-West Coast liifle Association's annual tournament was held on the Putiki range on Boxing Day and attracted large entries. The North Island championship and handicap events wore decided and some good inarkmanship was witnessed. Competitors were present from Auckland, Jaranaki, Hawkc's Hay and Wellington. The North Island championship challenge cup and belt were won by a Wanganui marksman, 11. Hedges, who secured lot points. C. J Nix (Featherston) and H. K. Smith (Opaki). with 102 points, tied for second place With !»s points R. Benton (Okato) secured the Marybank aggregate and the handicap aggregate was won by R. B. McKenzie (RaneitikeiK H. Hedges won the I'utiki aggregate with the possible of 100.
