MILK VENDOR FINED

[from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Monday A milk vendor, A. J. Masters, was prosecuted in tho Hamilton Police Court to-day for selling milk with less than .'i.25 per nent of fat. Defendant pleaded guilty. Jt was explained that samples obtained from defendant wero analysed and wero found to contain only' 2.5 per cent of fat. The milk supplied to defendant by a farmer was tested and was shown to contain over 5 per cent of fat. Defendant said lie could not account for the deficiency, as the milk was in the same condition as when ho bad bought' it. The magistrate, Mr. S, L. Paterson, advised defendant to obtain a warranty from the farmer to protect himself. Defendant was fined £2 and costs
