ESPIONAGE IN FRANCE
FORMER GERMAN OFFICER TEN YEARS' DETENTION (Received November 23, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, Nov. 22 Otto Rauft, a former German officer who won the Iron Cross in the Great War has been sentenced to 10 years' detention in a fortress on a charge of espionage. He was tried in camera. It is understood that the evidence showed that for 12 years accused had collected information about French aeroplanes and aircraft factories and had reported on vital points which could be put out of action.
