RESERVOIR OPENED
NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME GOVERNOR-GENERAL PRESENT (Received November 22, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 22 The Governor-General of Australia, Lord Gowrie, yesterday formally opened the Hume Reservoir, which is a part of the huge scheme for conserving tho waters of tho Murray River for irrigation. The cost of tho scheme will bo more than £5,500,000. The reservoir is tho largest in the Southern Hemisphere and will submerge 30,000 acres of the river flats.
