NEW SCIENCE BLOCK
CABINET APPROVES GRANT [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] \VELLIX(iWN, Sunday Cabinet has approved a grant for the erection of a new science block for Auckland University College. Plans for a building to house the biological departments at the college were recently approved by the college council, and were submitted to the Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Fraser. The council had been negotiating with the Minister for the necessary grant of about £'-10,000. The grant is recognition of the fact that the science departments of the college have been suffering from lack of space in the present building, uhiih was erected nearly 20 years ago. Lack of space and facilities, it is stated, have hampered the work of nil departments.
