GLASGOW TO LONDON SPEED OF 95 MILES AN HOUR LONDON. Nov. 17 The London, Midland and Scottish express from Glasgow to London today broke its own record, taking 5 hours 44 minutes for the journey, an average speed of 70 miles an hour. The highest speed was 95 miles an hour, in spite of the fact that the engine had to haul an extra 30 tons. On the combined journey of 800 miles the express averaged 69 miles an hour.
