CIRCLES' OPEN AFTERNOON [VUOM OCR OWN COnnKSrONDKNT] II AMII/I'ON, Wednesday The arts and crafts and gardening circles of the Waikaho Lyceum Club held an open afternoon yesterday. A display of craft work, including articles in brass, pewter, paper pulp anil tapestry, was arranged in the lounge ami was a source ol interest to all. Mrs. T. Shaw, convener of the gardening circle, and Airs. A. Ramsay, convener ol the; arts and era Its ciiclc, were the hostesses. Ihe tormer wore an ensemble of black faille and matching hat, and the latter was in brown crepe deque and a brown straw hat. Vocal solos rendered by Mrs. .J. Scales (Morrinsvillc) and Miss M. I.'orster, were much appreciated. The president, Mrs. Hugh Douglas, presented the prizes to the winners ol the (lower section as follows: Arrangement of a dinner table bowl: Mrs. 'I. A. Blake, 1; Miss I. Vercoe 2; Mrs. h. Ellis, Six specimens of (lowers: Mrs. G. G. Smith, 1; Mrs. G. Hamilton, 2. Decorated table: Mrs. Blake, 1. Jn recognition ol her services Mrs. Shaw received a special prize irom members of the gardening circle. .
