TAURANGA HIGH SCHOOL
NEW BUfLDING WANTED DENTAL CLINIC FINANCES [by TELEGRAM —own correspondent] TAURANGA, Wednesday The question of a new school is engaging the attention of the Tauranga District High School Committee, which has decided to invite the Minister of Education to visit Tauranga at an early date and to endeavour to obtain the attendance of the secretary of the Auckland Education Board and the architect.
The committee received the report of the dental clinic committee, which disclosed that the payments of fees were much in arrears. As it was impossible to carry on unless fees were paid it was decided to reconstitute the dental clinic committee by the appointment of a representative from each school. Each school committee will be advised of the financial obligations of their respective schools and requested to take action accordingly. Jn reply to a request for a full-time nurse at Tauranga the Dental Department advised that it was fully aware that reorganisation was desirable, but owing to the acute shortage ol dental nurses it was unable to give effect to the recommendation. A further draft of nurses would be available in June, when it was hoped the committee's request would he acceded to.
