WHANGAREI INTERESTS

The Whangaroi Methodist Girls' Club held an enjoyable evening in tho schoolroom last week. There was a large attendance and a very attractive programme was presented. A one-act play entitled "A Girl for tho Hall" was favourably received. The characters were taken by Miss R. McLachlan. Miss D. Simons, Miss N. Kelly, Miss J. Griffin, Miss A. Hills, Miss L. George. Miss C. Reove, and Miss V. Hirons. who were trained by their loader, Mrs. 0. Burnet. A sketch entitled "Tho Family Portrait" was given by Mesdames Halle.v, McLachlan, Hellier, Jamieson, McCabe and Calder. Others contributing items were: Miss E. Wright. Miss A. Middleton, Miss A. Tucker, Mrs. Hellier, Mrs. Holder. Mrs. S. Blanshard, Mrs. Mullineaux. Mrs. G. N. Morris, Aubrey Street, Whangarei, who has been 3n a sixweeks' holiday, spent for tho greater part with friends at French Pass, Wellington, Palmerston North and New Plymouth, has returned. Mrs. Rollo Gray, Bank Street, Whangarei, who has been visiting her sister. Mrs. N. Dimery, of Remuera. has returned to her home. Mrs. F. Pinfold, of Hamilton, is the guest of Mrs. A. IT. Crane, Ngararatunua, Whangarei. Mrs. .Jessie Hamilton, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. .). Hamilton, Mair Street. Whangarei. Mrs. John Burr, of Auckland, paid a short visit (o Whangarei last week and was present at the official opening of the new municipal library. Mrs. J. W. Hall. Hospital Residence, Whangarei, motored through to Auckland for a short visit.
