The following extract on the subject is from the Zk.vi.and Herald of November 1&> 188(3: "Acting on a communication from tW Education Department the Council « the Auckland University Co.h'S® decided to afford facilities, in such sub* jects as are taught by the young men desirous of admission to tn military schools of Woolwich and a '|" hurst. Ihis step is the outcome of tji Defence Act, passed last session, • which a Council of Military Educate was constituted. Young men desiro, of entering the Royal Engineers, Ar lery, or the Line, will now he able pursue their studies in Auckland far as the curriculum of the c°» i> admits, and then complete the . ot branches of a military education Woolwich or Sandhurst."
