FIFTY YEARS MARRIED
MR. AND MRS. T. BENNETT Association with the erection of numerous important buildings in the early days of Auckland was recalled yesterday by Mr. Thomas Bennett, who with his wife celebrated his golden wedding. Born here in 1861, Mr. Bennett followed tho occupation of a carpenter most of his life, and worked on the erection of such buddings as the Synagogue, tho Auckland Mental Hospital, the Strand Arcade, and the Newmarket an Onehunga Savings Banks. Mrs. Bennett was born in Scotland in 1860, and came to New Zealand with her parents four years later on the ship Viola. She resided with her parents at PapakiAik. where she married Mr. station at Te Akau, and disposed of it eight years ago. since when they have resided in the Epsom district.
