TRIBUTE TO SURGEON
LATE MR. CASEMENT AICKIN HOSPITAL BOARD'S MOTION Appreciation of the services of the late Mr. Casement Aickin as a member of the honorary staff of the Auckland Hospital, and sincere sympathy with his relatives, was expressed in a motion passed hv the Hospital Board at its meeting yesterday. The chairman, the Rev. \V. C. Wood, mentioned that Mr. Aickin had joined the honorary staff 23 years ago. "Mr. Aickin was unquestionably a man who established a place in the community both as a surgeon and as a citizen," said Mr. Mood. " His loss will be very much felt."
Mr. W. Wallace said Mr. Aickin had made a name for himself in Auckland as a most eminent surgeon.
l)r. J. P. Hastings said one of .Mr. Aickin's outstanding characteristics was liis unassuming manner, coupled 'with a great knowledge of surgery. He was in line with, the leading surgeons in America and Great Britain.
