DROWNING FEARED
TWO MEN MISSING SEARCH OVER BASS STRAIT (Received November 17, 12.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 16 Two men who left San Remo to fish for barracoutta in Base Strait early yesterday in a boat, one of a fleet of six, are missing and are believed to have been drowned. The fleet was struck by a fierce squall, and five of the boats turned back, but the sixth disappeared. Searches by land, sea and air have not revealed traces of the men or the boat. The victims are: Messrs. V. Heazlewood. aged 33. and C. Andrews, aged 28, both married. San Remo is a village 100 miles east of Melbourne. Residents of San Remo hold no hope for the men.
