AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE
MARKETING METHODS CONFERENCE IN SYDNEY RATIONALISATION DISCUSSED (Received November 17, 12.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 16 Representatives of all the major exporting organisations in the Commonwealth held a conference in Sydney today on the subject of the rationalisation of the export of Australian primary produce. The assistant Minister of Commerce, Mr. Thorby, who presided, expressed the hope on behalf of the Government that a serious attempt would be made to grapple with the broad principle of co-ordination, as the most serious problem facing Australian products was to get these on the United Kingdom market regularly in good condition and in sufficient quantity for requirements. Organisation, he said, could accomplish what individuals could never hope to achieve. Discussions were continued in committee, after which it was decided that a further conference should be held in January.
