SEASON'S WOOL SALES
HAWKE'S BAY CLIP DELAY IN COMING FORWARD [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] HASTINGS, Monday Shearing in Hawke's Bay having been interrupted by rain during: the past fortnight or so the province's wool clip for the first wool sale on December 4 is not coming into the stores at Port Ahuriri nearly as fast as it should. Unless the next fortnight is particularly active in all probability the offering for the sale will be considerably smaller than the allocation of 25,000 bales. The observance by shearers of the 44-hour week this season is considered to be another reason why the province's wool is not coming to hand as quickly as it might. Wool from tho Gisborne district is coming in more freely than wool from Hawke's Bay, There has probably been less rain in Poverty Bay than in Hawke's Bay during the past few weeks, which would account for this fact. What the wool stores have already received is in very good order, well grown, bright and lustrous, being in much better condition than last year's early clips.
