THE KAITAIA COMPANY increase: in production [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] KAITAIA, Wednesday The advance payment against October butter-fat supply to the Kaitaia Cooperative Dairy Compaq' will be at the rate of Is per lb. for finest grade, as compared with lid per lb. for October. 1935. The total advances for the season so far amount to £38,277, as against £32,408 for the corresponding period of the previous season, an increase of £5869. Production has increased very rapidly during the past month and is now in excess of the corresponding period of the 1934 season, which was the record season for the company. The output for October was 224 tons of butter, as against 197| tons for October, 1935, an increase of 13.3 per cent, and for the season so far 417 tons, as compared with 390J tons, an increase of 6.72 per cent. Climatic conditions generally have been in favour of production during the first quarter of the present season and with ample rains during the past week farmers are assured of an abundance of grass for some weeks ahead. Present indications are for a very favourable season, and hay paddocks are well forward. A record high grading average for the company was established during October, the average for the month being 94.02 points.
