PROPOSED CHANGE OF NAME [from oor OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday Tho suggestion that tho name of the railway station at .Frankton Junction should bo changed to Hamilton Junction was received by the Central Waikato Power Board from tho Hamilton Chamber of Commerce to-day. Tho chairman, Mr. T. Hinton, said that when the lato Mr. Thomas Jolly gavo tho land comprising tho sito of Frankton ho was promised that the area should bo named after his son Frank. Mr. Hinton suggestod that tho Jolly family should bo approached and tho promise given and accepted when the town of Frankton was founded should be revoked before any change was made. Tho board simply received the letter. EXCHANGE OF LAND NEW FRANKTON DOMAIN [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Wednesday An exchange of land effected between tho Education Department and • tho Hamilton Domain Board has resulted in an area of 17 acres adjoining the Frankton School being made available as a public reserve. In exchango tho Education Department will receive a section of domain land in Palmerston Street. It is probable that the area at Frankton will bo used as a sports and recreational reserve and a scheme of tree-planting and beautification is to b« carried out as a preliminary.
