Horowhenua has also been working well, but his latest form in public has been below expectations.

Little Man (Clifford) reeled off five furlongs in 1.8 4-5. Armacourt (Tremain), after running the first half-mile in 525, completed seven furlongs in 1.34 1-5. She i 6 in great heart. Golden Blonde (Tremain) was slightly in front of Mandamus (Gilmore) at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1.(3 1-5. They ran the first two in 25 3-5s and could have done better at the finish. Mandamus, who is rid of tho trouble that prevented him from racing at Avondale, was allowed to loaf near the end. Karl (Cavancy) ran six furlongs in 1.10 3-5. He did his work in good style and appears to have done well since racing at Wanganui. FJcetwind (Clifford) sprinted half a mile in 535. She is doing all her work nicely. On the two-year-old track Hunting Moor (Gilchrist) sprinted three furlongs in 42 2-5 without being bustled. Ho is making satisfactory progress. However, he appears to bo growing fairly quickly and his trainer will probably not hurry him. Schooling of Jumpers

Kaola (L. Dulieu) jumped four hurdles well and afterwards cleared the steeplechase fences on tho flat in good style. He bears an improved appearance, being more robust than formerly. Lord Val (Baker) led Arabesque (Clifford), All Irish (Wilkinson) and Mountain Bruce (Turvev) over four hurdles in 1.3 3-5, a very satisfactory gallop. Lord Val schooled well and is in great heart. The others performed creditably, although Mountain Bruce hit the last fence and was walking a little short afterwards.

Electric Flash (Sharkey) led Znno Grev (Baker), Vilina (Olive) and King Rod (Turvey) over a round of the steeplechase fences. Electric Flash swerved at the first fence of the double but went with plenty of dash and gave a good display to be well clear throughout.
