Johnstone, Con-troller-General of Civil Aviation, Mr. M. L. Shepherd, Secretary of Defence. Mr. H. P. Brown, Director of Postal Services, and Mr. M, B. Harry, Chief Inspector of Postal {services. Sir- Archdale Parkhill, Australian .... Minister of Defence, is also to visit the ; Dominion, leaving Sydney by the Airatea on Friday. . ' //„ Important discussions are expected to take place on aviation questions affecting New Zealand, Australia and Britain, with particular reference to the transtasman air mailser- ££ vice. Sir. Bertram and t'be Australian representatives have come at the New Zealand Government's invitation, Mr. Bert- i ram having been chosen following a re- f. quest to the Imperial Government to place an officer at the disposal of New Zealand to give advice on aviation develophients. G. L. ' Bertram, who arrived by the Wanganella to discuss aviatioa problems with the New Zealand Government. suf ■ The Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, who is a member of the Cabinet sub-committee appointed to represent the Government in these negotiations, indicated this evening that although there would probably be some preliminary discussions during the next few days, the main negotia- 1 tions would not take place until the arrival next .week of the Australian Minister of Defence, Sir Archdale Parkhill. • •
