jCHFtISTCHUBCH TO WAIMATE I . • ~v The most important cycling road race in the Dominion will take place early in October over a course of 145 miles from • Christchurch to Waimate. The New Zealand championship will be,won by the rider gaining fastest time in the race. This event, which has been controlled by the Canterbury Centre for .the past 15 years, has brought; to the forefrpgt several Australian and New Zealand champions, including the present Dominion title-holder H. Watson. Watson has proved himself one of the best riders in Alalia and a few* years ago was a member of the Australian team which competed in the rfour de France, a race of 3300 miles. The course for the race this year has been reversed so that the finish will take place at Waimate.
