MEETING AT OKAIHAU
Th«» annual group meeting of women's institutes was held at Okaihau, when there was a large attendance of delegates. Seven institutes entered the display competition, in which there was a wonderful range of work exhibited. The judges. Mesdames E. Newman and L. M. Logan, awarded the points as follows: —Tutekehua, 72 points; Happy Valley, 70; Okaihau, 69; Umawera, 64; Te Tio, 63; Moerewa, 61; Motukaraka, 50. The banner was presented to Te Tio, which has only a small band of workers compared with other institutes. A vote was taken as to whether the institutes would remain with the Whangarei Federation or form their own federation. Thev elected to remain with Whangarei.
