PUBLIC SERVICE DANCE

A POPULAR FUNCTION The popularity of the Public Service annual dance at Whangarei has increased to, such an extent that the gathering held there last Thursday eclipsed all previous dances, the Parochial Hall being overcrowded with a merry throng. Anticipating a very large attendance, the committee had provided a marquee for extra sittingout room. The function was very attractive and proved to be one of the brightest dances of the season. Ihe ladies' committee responsible for the success of the evening were: —Sliss Alice Hirst, who wore green floral satin; Sliss L. Ventry-Smith, blue marocain; Sliss Barbara Walker, maize and red silk organdie; Sliss N. Nicholls, ice blue satin; Sliss Edna Webb, powder blue satin and silver lame. Others present included: —Sirs.
