RESTORED PROSPERITY
EVIDENCE IN BRITAIN BIG SHIPPING REVIVAL RECORD FOR SOUTHAMPTON (Received September 0, 5.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Sept. 5 Striking evidence of Britain's restored prosperity is afforded in the announcement that the tonnage of shipping which entered Southampton Docks during August was the highest monthly total ever recorded in the history of the port. So far this year more shipping has been accommodated at Southampton than in the corresponding period of any previous year. The aggregate of 2.238,500 gross tons for August is 100,000 tons above the standing record monthly total.
