BANK'S SAFE OPENED
EXPERT'S SERVICES SECURED NORMAL BUSINESS RESUMED [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] NAPIER, Sunday Five minutes' work and a certain amount of luck enabled a Wellington expert to open the door of the strongroom at the Bank of New South Wales. The door had steadfastly refused to open during the whole of Friday in spite of every expedient employed by the staff and. for the busiest day in the week all the bank's books and money remained locked away. A safe expert • from Wellington arrived on Friday night and opened the strongroom in a few minutes. He stated he had been rather lucky to accomplish his task in such a short time, although the fault in the combination was a slight one. The bank resumed its usual business on Saturday morning.
