TAURANGA INTERESTS
ERECTION OF PUBLIC HALL [by telegraph OWN correspondent] , TAURANGA, Sunday The question of erecting a hall in the southern portion of the borough was discussed by the Tauranga South Progreso League at its quarterly meeting. It was stated by the chairman, Mr. J. D. Morrison, that sites were offering on Cameron Road and Morris Street at reasonable prices. Estimates of the cost were also given. It was finally agreed that the executive committee should continue its inquiries in regard to a hall and submit a proposition to a future meeting. It was decided to ask the Borough Council to permit the league to appoint representatives on the council's zoning section and parks section of the town-planning committee. In the event of the, council's agreeing, the league's representatives will be Messrs. .T. R. Bongard and C. S. Moffatt (zoning), and Mrs. Hardwick (parks). A motion that the league should protest to the Boroxigh Council against the setting aside of Jordan Park as a camping ground was defeated. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, advised that authority had been .given for the installation of a elot telephone in Tauranga South as eoon as was practicable. i
