HUNTING SEASON CLOSES
FINAL MEET AT OPOTIKI [by telegraph OWN correspondent] •>-. OPOTIKI, Sunday The final hunt for the season was held by the Opotiki Hunt Club at Paerata Ridge, when between 80 and 00 riders took part in a very successful'meqt. Tho hounds threw off on Messrs. Talbot Brothers' property and then crossed the road to ivork through tho properties of Messrs. S. Jeffery, A. Scott, and W. Thompson, soon putting up a strong haro on Mr. Thompson's property. After a very difficult run the hare was, finally driven out of dense manuka and the season was fittingly closed with a kill. At the afternoon tea interval the master, Mr. C. T. Clark, thanked all properly owners who . had given the use of their lands for '"curing the afternoon the huntsman. Mr. T. Kelly, had the misfortune to have his collarbone broken in a fall, while two other riders were badly shaken when their horses collided in taking a jump.
