HARRIER RACING

UNIVERSITY CLUB'S EVENTS The University Harrier Club concluded its season on Saturday with a field day at Atission Bay. There was a large attendance of members and the club also welcomed a number of visitors, including C. P. Clegg, holder of the New Zealand javelin throwing title. A relay race was also held and resulted in a win fof a team comprising Hazard, Cox, llagrie and Respinger. • BAPTIST CLUB The Auckland Baptist Harrier Club held its annual championship from the Shackleton Road Baptist Church on Saturday. TECHNICAL CLUB Harriers of the Technical Old Boys" Athletic Club held a run from tho Mount Eden Congregational Church, View Road, on Saturday, over an eight-miles course. It was a strenuous run, but was thoroughly enjoyed by a fair attendance. At tho conclusion tho harriers-were entertained at afternoon tea by the ladies of the church. The club's captain, Mr. A. \Y. White, extended thanks and the Key. 1. de Lisle, club vice-president, replied. A run will be held next Saturday from the Mount Albert Baptist Church, and the club will act as hosts to the Lynndale Harrier Club. LYNNDALE CLUB In spite of unfavourable weather conditions, the Lynndale Harrier Club established a record for its relay race from Avondale to Helensville on Saturday. The previous best time of 3h 30m was beaten easily by both the A and B teams, which registered 3h 17m 15s and 3h lGin 12s respectively. Following is the result:—B team (Anderson, Darbyshire, Dolan, Rogers, Murdock, Bell, Richardson, McCombie), lj A team (Collins, Brereton, E. Taylor, Bennett, J. Henderson, White, T. Henderson, Crompton). 2. Tnii teams enjoyed a swim in the Parakai baths before returning to Auckland after one of the club's most successful runs this season.
