WHANGAREI CLUB'S SEASON [from our own correspondent] WnANGAREI, Sunday „ A successful season was reported at tho annual meeting of the Whangarei Cricket Chlb. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. R. Ormandy; president, Mr. W. McDonald; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. Flewellyn, C. S. Solomon, G. Bennett, J. R. Re'yburn, N. Wilde, D. T. Mcintosh; custodian, Mr. R. Stevenson; captain, Mr. H. Wilson; vice-captain. Mr. L. Nisbet; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. D. Spring; selection committee, Messrs. H. Wilson, L. Nisbet, W. Flower; delegates to the Whangarei and District Cricket Association, Mr. F. 11. Cowan, Mr. R. Jennings. It was decided to support tho effort to introduco two-day matches during tho coming season. COMBINED SERVICES CLUB [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Sunday The sixth annual meeting of the Combined Services Cricket Club was presided T>ver by Mr. W. G. Whitmoro. There was a good attendance of members. The president congratulated the senior team on its consistency during the past three years in being twice runner-up in tho championship, and third on tho other occasion. The financial position was considered very satisfactory, there being a substantial credit balance. It was decided to support the proposals for two-day cricket in lieu of one, as at present.
