HOTEL CONCESSIONS
RESTRICTION IN OTAGO i MOTORISTS TO PAY MORE [by telegraph—OWN* correspondent] DUNEDIN, Thureday Only bona-fide commercial travellers will future be granted a concession on tariffs in liconsed hotels throughout Otago. This decision was made by the Licensed Victuallers' Industrial Union of Employers. The question of a general raising of tariffs was discussed, and it was decided_that any increase was the subject for individual decision. Hotelkeepers have found that the claimants of concessions have been increasing greatly, until now only a few pay full rates. "My, very definite opinion is that the hotelkeepers have made a mistake," said a prominent Automobile Association man. "The cancellation of concessions and any increase in the general tariff rates will be felt by motorists, v The decision will have the effect of more deciding to use motor camps- when travelling, and we already know how the development of camping , has been reflected in the hotel trade."
