ARABS' VIOLENCE

BRITAIN FIRM RESTORATION OF ORDER NO PRIOR CONCESSIONS MARTIAL LAW POSSIBLE By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received September 3 ,6.u5 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 3 The chief subject discussed by the British Cabinet yesterday was the situation in Palestine. According to the Daily Telegraph's political correspondent, it decided to stand by the declaration made in June by the Colonial Secretary, Mr. W. Ormsby-Gore, insisting upon the restoration of law arid order before the Royal Commission begins its investigations. The Goverment, it is stated, is not committed to accepting the mediation proposals of the Irak Foreign Minister, General Nuri Pasha, including a restriction of Jewish immigration on which matter the Government has arrived at no decision.

On the contrary the Government's determined that no concession shall be made to Arab violence.

The political correspondent of the Morning Post says martial law 'is regarded as-a more probablo development if the violence campaign persists.
