Ho is to be reserved for the seven furlongs event on the second day. Brilliancy , was restricted to trotting and cantering over two circuits. He is in good order for his engagements. Clessamor was under a good pull, beside High Test, at the conclusion of five furlongs in I.S. They ran the first three in 38}s, and it was a sound effort on the part of both. 1 Tomoana,-who has a slight cold, was let off with an easy task. Script and Carleaf completed a round of pace work by sprinting the last twb furlongs in 28}s. Script was foing better than his companion at the nish. Glenvane, who rejoined R. Johnson's team during the week-end, was given two rounds at easy half-pace. He looks bright and well. Calshot was given a similar task. Ngatirahiri and Davistock were restricted to trotting and cantering. The former is looking well. Aussie Ra strode out freely over two rounds on the inside. Ho continues to make , good progress. The Tiger pulled hard when doing pace work on the inside. He is fairly well forward and may come to hand quickly. A. Winder has booked accommodation for five/ horses. Prince Acre, Merial, Susan, Gay Flier and Racewhip, who are to arrive on Wednesday. A. Rowan, with Tonnerre and Musquil, and the Messrs. Crosby, with La Femme Noire, are also expected on the same day. A. Neale and L. Knapp will probably arrive with their teams to-morrow night.

Missal had an advantage over Koura Eua at the end of four furlongs in 54 l-ss, the first two in 26 2-os. Moquetto (E. Peck) and Spiral (P. Morrison) sprinted five furlonge in 1.5 3-5, the first two in 25 2-ss. On the No. 1 grass Baron Bold defeated Parakino over two furlongs in 255. Amatory' began with them but lost a lot of ground around the turn and took 265. Baron Bold shows promise. Illawarra jumped four steeplechase fences in good style. He is to contest the Trial Hunters' Steeplechase at New Plymouth. Others to work included Colenso, Collodion, Pin Money, Cyclopean, Just an Idea, Grand Jury, Scarf Dance and Icing.
