PAKURANGA HUNT

MEET AT CLEVEDON ENJOYABLE DAY'S SPORT Members of the Pakuranga Hunt Club met at Clcvedon on Saturday, and, although no kills were made, the scent and going were good and an excellent day's sport was enjoyed. The hunt followers were entertained nt breakfast and afternoon tea in the Clevedon Hall by the ladies of tho district. Hounds threw off on Mr. W. Gore's property, where they qilickly put up a hare. She run on to Mr. E. Graham's farm, and then out to tho Takanini Road, where hounds lost her. A second hare was put up 011 Mr. E. Graham's property, and took tho hunt (or a long run, crossing tho properties of Messrs. J. Lano, J. 11. Noone and 11. G. Garland, and then running over tho Papakura Road into Mr. M. Wilson's farm. There she made a wide circle, coming back over Mr. J. Farrer's property, and then crossing several other properties. Finally, she led the hounds down tho Papakura Road to Mr. 11. Hull's farm, where they had to bo stopped 011 account of sheep and lambs. Tho order for homo was then given. Among the followers were tho master, Mr. 11. Bullock-Webster, on Tally Ho; the field master, Commander D. A. Bingley, on Dominican, Sir James Gunson on Mac, Mr. A. Walker on Bluostone, Mr. W. Gunson on Breeze, Mr. W. Gore on Scotty, Mr. J. BAY OF PLENTY HOUNDS MEET AT K ATI K ATI [BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] TAURANGA, Saturday Sporting enthusiasts enjoyed a splendid day's hunting at Katikati on the occasion of tho visit to that district by tho Rotorua and Bay of Plenty hounds. Tho pack ran strongly during tho whole day and there were some excellent runs. Tho hares, however, were very elusive and managed to reach thick cover on each occasion. At tho cloge of tho hunt afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Walker and a ladies' committee. Among the followers were ridors from To Puke, Tauranga, Wairoa, Te Puna, Katikati, Aongatete and Omokoroa districts. A feature was the fine jumping. It is intended that the next meet in the western portion of the Tauranga County should be held at Te Puna.
