DEATH OF CHILD
STRUCK BY MOTOR-BUS INJURIES PROVE FATAL POINT CHEVALIER ACCIDENT Fatal injuries were sufferer] by a five-year-old boy, Brian Kennedy, whe:i ha was run over by a motor-bus in Foint Chevalier Road, near the fire station, at 4.30 on Saturday afternoon. The boy, who was a son of Mr. J. Kennedy, of 79 Wainui Avenue. Point Chevalier, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, where his death occurred about two hours later. The motor-bus. one of the fleet of the Passenger Transport Company, Limited, was driven by Mr. V T. Johnson, of Grey Street, Papatojtoe. It was on a special run from Point Chevalier with a party of footballers. The child was crossing the road irhen he was struck. He suffered extensive injuries, and was taken to hospital in a St. John ambulance. An inquest was opened by Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., coroner, yesterday, and was adjourned after evidence of identification had been given.
