BAY OF PLENTY NEWS
Miss Dolly Franklin and Miss May Franklin, of Awakeri, have returned after spending a short holiday at Auckland. Mrs. J. Craddock, of Awakeri, has returned from Hamilton where she was the guest of Mrs. L. .Johnson. _ , Mrs. W. Gee, of Hamilton, is a visitor to Whakatane. Mrs. C. Parker, Mrs. P. Hogan, Mrs. J. liurt, and Mrs. Parker, jun., all of Gisborne, are visiting Whakatane and the surrounding district. .Mrs. W. 11. Kent, of Wellington, is visiting Whakatane. Mrs. T. B. J)underdale, of Whakatane, has left for a visit to Auckland. Mrs. Alan Barr, of Awakeri, has returned from a visit to Auckland. At the conclusion of the Arbor Day function at the Taneatua School, the residents and others present were the guests of the Taneatua Citizens' Goodwill Committee at afternoon tea. The guests were received bv Mr. V. Mead (president of the committee)* and Miss Bertha Peebles. Those present included: Mrs. .1. C. McCulloch, M rs. C. Hogers, Mrs. L. Luxton. Mrs. C. G. Lucas, Mrs. A. Mcfiougan, Mrs. C. Goiich, Airs. N. Hpid. Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. W. Sni.vtho, Mrs. G. Merrie, Mrs. M. Semmens, Mrs. H. C. Alexander, Miss J. He id. Miss N. Heid, Mis's Thompson, Miss Morrison and Miss Prideaux.
