WHAKATANE ASSOCIATION PLANS FOR EXPANSION [by tki.kcr.vimi—own correspondent] WHAKATANE, Sunday The annual genera! meeting of the Bay of Plenty Winter Show Association was held on Friday evening. The annual report stated that in keeping with the general improvements in business affairs the result of the year's working had been very satisfactory, revenue for the first time for some years more than balancing expenditure. It was to be hoped the Highland competition day would be an annual one, as it proved a great draw to the show and was very popular. Tho secretary stated there was an improvement in the dairy section, but not sufficient to make it a success. He considered the prize-money for the poultry section should be revised. A recommendation was passed by tho meeting that the question of extending the buildings be gone into. I hey were considered too small now that the show was rapidly growing. More space was needed also for the dance and entertainment hall, and this was also referred to tho incoming committee.
