RIOTS AT MARSEILLES
TRAMWAY WORKERS' PROTEST COMMUNISTS AND FASCISTS (Received August 4, 5.35 p.m.) PARIS, August 3 Rioting has occurred at Marseilles following a protest by tramway and bus workers against an incfcase in fares to counteract the increase in wages. The situation developed to-day into fights between Reds and Fascists, and 12 tramcars and many buses were wrecked. Dockers joined in and capsized several tugs in the harbour.
