RUGBY TOUR BY AIR
MARLBOROUGH PLAYERS MATCH WITH WELLINGTON [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION"] BLENHEIM, Tuesday It has been definitely arranged that the Marlborough Rugby representatives will travel by air. both to fulfil the engagement against Wellington on September 26. Besides being unique in Dominion Rugby historv the decision indicates the way that Marlborough residents have accepted the air services as ordinary means of travel. It is estimated that a saving of £33 will be effected, compared with steamer fares and hotel expenses; while, in addition, players will be away only half a day from work. The total cost of planes, board and incidentals are estimated at £B9. but it is hoped to organise an air excursion to provide back loading for the aeroplanes, thereby reducing the cost to the union by £3O. The total cost by boat would be £95, with four-and a-half days' absence from Blenheim. Marlborough is nominating JacK Best, All Black forward, and A 1 Robinson, five-eighth, for the Sout Island team. Best, however, is now re< siding at Hamilton.
